Where’s Loren?

Sunrise from the Tahoe Rim Trail

Sometimes when I day hike, often when I backpack, and always when I thru-hike, I carry a Garmin satellite communicator. It tracks my hiking progress in 10, 20, or 30 minute increments, allows me to text when I don’t have cell service, and provides access to emergency services…just in case. When I am thru-hiking you can follow along live on a map that shows my location on trail.

MY PACIFIC CREST TRAIL LASH

My next backpacking trip is a PCT LASH (Long Ass Section Hike). My hike begins Monday, August 24th and tentatively ends September 20, 2026. I’m starting the Pacific Crest Trail at Bucks Lake and hiking southbound (SOBO) to Kennedy Meadows General Store. Below is summary of my itinerary. Click the image for all the details.

Below is a map of the PCT LASH. When I start hiking on August 24th, you can click the map below and follow my progress in real time. I will also be posting to my blog from the trail, so check back often to see how I am doing!

Previous Thru-Hike: I hiked the Tahoe Rim Trail in July of 2026. Read all about it HERE.

Next Thru-Hike: In 2027, I plan to thru-hike the Continental Divide Trail. Planning will begin in earnest after the PCT LASH.

Thanks for following along!
